Christmas day Reconciliation; Babu Owino pardoned by David Sankok for hiding his crutches

Babu & Sankok

In what is seen as Christmas day reconciliation, MP David Sankok has openly forgiven Embakasi East MP Babu Owino for hiding his crutches during a special sitting of Parliament on December 22, 2021.

Besides uttering that the moment could have ruined his life in case of an emergency, Sankok has laid emphasis that the matter is fully behind him and he has no qualms with Babu.

“By the time became aware that my crutches were nowhere to be found, I couldn’t do a thing like moving or going to the washrooms. If hell broke out I would have been helpless but because of my values as a Christian I have decided to forgive Owino,” Sankok said.

Sankok, however, criticized Owino and a section of Members of Parliament who apparently yapped that his crutches could be used as make-shift weapon if anarchy brewed in the House.

“Those saying that my crutches can be used as weapons are wrong. They are just tools I use for walking. If I were to use them as weapons, the said persons could also use their legs to attack me as well and I wouldn’t be able to do the same. It will never come to that though because we are all peaceful,” he added.

Sankok, who is the representative of People Living With Disabilities in the National Assembly, consequently underscored that when he meets Owino at the next Parliament sitting, it will just be business as usual as he has no beef with him.

“When we meet on December 29, our relationship as legislators will still be good, but let’s use our minds to formulate new laws and debate in Parliament,” he stated.
